This morning, Jane and I took our annual pilgrimage to Eshqua Bog in Hartland, VT to see the showy lady slippers and other bog plants.
They were plentiful, almost at peak. After last night’s rain, they still had droplets of water on them.

Jane and I took our annual pilgrimage to Eshqua Bog in Hartland, VT this morning after a rains to see the showy lady slippers and the other early summer bog flowers. I have never seen as many lady slippers as this year nor as many ferns.
Jane and I visited Eshqua Bog, a local fen with rare wild flowers, twice this year, at the beginning and towards the end of the showy lady’s slipper season.
Jane and I have made a couple of trips to Eshqua Bog, Hartland, VT this spring. The first on was on May 27. We had been hoping that the lady’s slippers would be in bloom, but it was too early. We did see other spring flowers.
Today’s trip was more fruitful. We not only saw two varieties of lady’s slippers,
but also other bog flowers.
The dragon flies, butterflies and a hummingbird also put in an appearance.
