Fall 2018

After a delightful paddle on Canadian Thanksgiving, the weather turned cold and we put the kayaks away for the winter.

For the most part the fall colors in the Upper Valley were muted.

Fall has come.

Duck hunting season has started and the ducks seem to know it. For the most part, they are more skittish and more adept at hiding, but there were a few exceptions. A female merganser let us get quite close and even followed us when we paddled downriver.

We also saw a great blue heron,

Foggy walk

It was time for a dog walk this morning. It was foggy near the river.

Geese and duck near the log. This log had spent most of the summer near the shore. A few days ago, they let the river get a little higher and it floated off.
