We walked along the River in Wilder this morning. We ran into a flock of mallards feeding.
The water was lower than usual today, so we walked along the shore where there is usually a foot of water.

this morning, we walked with the dogs on Hurricane Hill, one of Hartford, VT town parks.
Lame tame duck
Lame tame duck was at the boat launch in Wilder today. I saw him standing and got a chance to see his bad leg for the first time: not a pretty sight. He was the only duck around, the others have flown south. Already he has lost weight. I don’t think he’ll last the winter.
