From my kayak 9/17-10/14

It has been a beautiful fall: some rain, some sun and dropping temperatures.

We continued to paddle a few times a week.

We haven’t seen a lot of wildlife: a few ducks, geese, a green heron…

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. The water is now below 50 and because we don’t have wet/dry suits, we have put the kayaks away for the season.

From my kayak 6/22-7/11

We have spent several days a week in our kayaks for the past few weeks. We have just seen a few ducks and geese this year, but a wide variety of other wildlife.

We haven’t seen many birds, and most were very skittish with the exception being the loons on Grafton Pond.

We did come across a horned grebe, a lifer.

The water and air temperatures are getting colder, and for safety’s sake, the kayaks have been put away for the winter.
